Elyce de Reefe grew up between Santa Cruz, California and New York City, and proudly calls herself a coastal girl. She writes emotionally rich, genre-blending romance with smart, strong heroines, and heroes worth falling for. Whether it’s wolf shifter romance, contemporary romance, or romantic suspense, her stories explore intimacy, resilience, and the journey toward a true happily-ever-after. 

Her work is known for emotionally driven plots, authentic characters, and a touch of magic. When not writing, she enjoys hiking, riding horses, swimming under blue skies, and cozy evenings by the fire with a good book. And yes— she has a special place in her heart for wolves. 

FULL BIO (Approx. 400 Words) 

Elyce de Reefe grew up between Santa Cruz, California and New York City, and considers herself a lifelong coastal girl. She’s an author of genre-spanning romance—writing everything from wolf shifter fantasy to romantic suspense, contemporary love stories, and fantasy-infused science fiction. Her work is known for emotionally driven plots, authentic characters, and strong heroines who know exactly who they are. 

She holds a BA in Art History and a minor in Italian Literature, and studied abroad in Urbino and Florence. Her first visit to Venice inspired a promise: to return on her honeymoon. Years later, she did—dancing by moonlight to a string quartet playing La Vie en Rose in Piazza San Marco. “It was magical,” she says. “Probably the most romantic moment of my life.” 

Elyce began her writing journey with a deep love for science fiction and fantasy, but it was romance that captured her imagination and never let go. Her stories focus on deep emotional arcs and the challenges of true intimacy, often set against real-world conflict, danger, or magical intrigue. 

She enjoys writing about slightly older characters who have lived a little—and sometimes loved before. Many of her protagonists are navigating complex family dynamics, including parenting or co-parenting, and the unique emotional weight that comes with second-chance love or blended families. 

Her published works include The Rabbit River Saga, an eight-book fantasy romance series set in the wilderness of upstate New York—with wolves, secrets, and strong Pack bonds at its heart. Elyce loves writing shifter romance because it lets her explore themes of belonging, chosen family, and the deep sense of community that’s often missing in modern life. 

She has also written science fiction romance and has her first romantic suspense arriving this year in Mistaken Identity (2025). Her contemporary romance Rory’s Run is scheduled for release in fall 2025. The first book in her sweeping romantic suspense trilogy, Shimmer, is due out in 2026. 

Elyce’s books have drawn a devoted readership who love her blend of heat, heart, and character-driven storytelling. Whether it’s a gritty suspense or a supernatural saga, her romances always deliver emotional payoff—and a journey worth taking. 

She lives with her husband and two children in a picturesque colonial home surrounded by lush gardens. Spring and summer find her outdoors—hiking, horseback riding, or digging in the dirt. Winters are reserved for long evenings by the fire, usually working on her next novel, with a little chocolate nearby. 

She believes in love that transforms, characters that evolve, and wolves— she has a special place in her heart for wolves.
